of sweet Lydia, just for fun.

I got to play with sweet, little, 7-day-old Lydia today, and she was a gem! She was so sleepy and cuddly. I just LOVE the newborn stage, and 7 days old is the perfect time to capture it! This cute little lady is so very loved!

Laurie, thanks so much for allowing me to spend time with your family today! I hope you love your sneak peek, and I’ll have the rest of your pictures ready for you to view soon!

Usually at iheartfaces.com, the competitions focus on faces, but this week their mixing things up. This week’s challenge is “hands-on fun,” meaning the focus should be on hands. I LOVE photographing hands. I think they tell so much about a person, and I love the details in them. This set of hands is one of my faves. I don’t know what it is about this image that I like the most… maybe it’s the dimples in her sweet little knuckles, or the memory of her clapping them together as her mom cheered on her smiles. Maybe it’s the pretty bokeh, or the softness of her curls, or the lovely green…. whatever it is, I love it!

To see more hands or to enter your own image, head on over to iheartfaces.com and join in the fun! It’s an awesome place for inspiration!

Clients ask me this this question a lot, so I figured I would start giving you all ideas for what to wear for your upcoming sessions. Each month, I’ll be doing a new “What Should We Wear” post here on my blog. Here are some things I usually tell my clients:

-    Coordinate outfits, but don’t match… meaning, pick a color palette and but don’t necessarily

have everyone wear the same color on top and the same color on bottom.

-    Girls, ACCESSORIZE! :) Pick a great pair of shoes and throw on some jewelry.

-    Most importantly: Pick something that you feel great in, and let your personality shine!!

If you feel good, you’ll look good!!

Hope this helps, and I can’t wait to see how great you all look at your sessions! :)

This week’s theme at i♥faces.com is all about kissing! My entry is one of my favorite kissy pictures from a recent engagement shoot. This couple’s wedding is themed after “Phantom of the Opera,” so it was quite fitting that their engagement shoot was scheduled on a cold and snowy day.

Be sure to check out all of the entries over at i♥faces.com or enter one yourself! It’s lots of fun and is great for inspiration!

Olivia recently turned 6 months, and so she and her Mommy came to see me to document the occasion. She was such a sweet smiley little thing, and you can tell that she LOVES her mama! …makes me SO want a girl to add to my brood of boys! :) Mom, thanks so much for spending part of your afternoon with me today. Enjoy your sneak peek, and I’ll have the rest of your images ready for you soon!

If you’ve been following me from the beginning, you might remember this little doll baby. She and her family were my very first clients and some of our best friends. Today is her 1st birthday…I can’t believe that… OR the fact that I’ve been doing this for nearly 9 months!! How lucky am I!! :) Her adorable ladybug themed party was yesterday, and I was pleased as punch when her Mommy asked if I would capture the event! She was a party pro as she charmed the party-goers, daintily ate her cupcake and helped to open every.single.present. Miss Sam, I am so thankful to get to be a part of your sweet life! You are precious and God has such great things in store for you! Just remember…. best friends forever, okay? :)
